Who am I?
Ooof. That header sounds like the start of an existential crisis, doesn’t it?
Anyway, I’m Brinsley Bailey: content specialist, tea advocate, and professional memer.
I’ve been working in marketing for over a decade and picked up a few useful tricks along the way. My experience spans copywriting, technical writing, content management, SEO, and data analysis — which mostly means I enjoy turning messy, complex ideas into clear, useful content that actually performs.
Outside of writing, I tend to sit at the intersection of strategy, structure, and stakeholder wrangling. I’ve led large-scale content initiatives in regulated fintech environments, built blogs and editorial frameworks from scratch, and worked closely with SEO, product marketing, CRM, performance, and social teams to turn content into something that actually moves the needle. I’m also very familiar with Jira tickets that say things like “Can we make this viral?”, briefs that arrive five minutes before deadline, and the quiet satisfaction of turning both into something coherent, compliant, and on time.
What do I do?
I write. A lot. But, hold on…there’s more! In recent years, I’ve moved into management where I focus more on strategy and analysis. I enjoy creating content, but now for me it’s about the big picture; purpose, ideation, storytelling, execution, analysis, and repeatability. There are levels to this game, and if you trust me I’ll show you…
-
Turning business goals, search intent, and half-formed ideas into content concepts that are actually worth making.
-
Delivering high-quality content at scale, from first draft to publish, even when the brief isn’t perfect (or arrives late).
-
Building content frameworks that balance long-term growth, short-term campaigns, and the realities of regulation and resources.
-
Aligning editorial, SEO, product, PR, social media, localisation, and marketing teams, using diplomacy to ensure content doesn’t get stuck in limbo.
-
Using performance data to refine ideas, prove impact, and make smarter decisions about what to scale, fix, or retire.
-
Creating clear direction, realistic expectations, and space for others to do their best work.
-
Finding fresh angles in crowded spaces, and writing content that’s useful, distinctive, and genuinely helpful.
